Classic Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the basis of all Yoga styles. Hatha means “Union”, and the intention of all Yoga is to unify your mind and body. Yoga is in essence a moving meditation.
Hatha Yoga uses postures (asana) and conscious breathing (Pranayama) in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength and flexibility, and relaxation. Through proper alignment and mindful actions of the body, Hatha Yoga brings balance, strength, and a sense of well-being to the practitioner. Hatha is the default style for Mindful Yoga Practice.
A Hatha Yoga class is a slightly slower paced stretching and strengthening yoga class, with simple breathing exercises and some meditation.
